Prof. Einav is the Berman Emeritus Professor of Vascular Bioengineering at Tel Aviv University. He is also a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University (SBU), which is one of the State University of New York Centers. At SBU he is the director of the Healthcare and Medical Technologies Division of the Center of Excellence for Wireless and Information Technologies (“CEWIT”). As the Director, he oversees close to 40 projects employing about 40 Faculty members, 300 PhD researchers and 12 start-up companies. Dr. Einav is a recognized leader and global authority of Biomedical Engineering in general, and Vascular Bioengineering in particular. He has been elected as a Fellow of the International College of Medical and Biological Engineering, a Founding Fellow of BMES, a Founding Fellow of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering ((IFMBE) and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (“AIMBE”). Dr. Einav authored close to 200 publications. He is the Laureate of the Landau Prize and the Miller Prize for major achievements in Science, medicine and Engineering. Dr. Einav is a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the California Institute of Technology (“Caltech”). Dr. Einav also was a founder or advisor to several medical device companies, and a member of the advisory board of several venture capital funds. In addition, he was the President of the Israeli Society for Medical and Biological Engineering.
