Dr. Newsome has been in practice since 2002. She is currently Director of Interventional Radiology at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She has been involved in several innovation and quality initiatives recognized by the Emory Quality Forum in 2016 and presented at the Radiology Society of North America. She was invited to be part of a national council that explores initiatives to address issues of small numbers of women and minorities in interventional radiology. Dr. Newsome has prior experience with the development of new embolics and has served in an advisory role for embolic manufacturers. She is Co-Director of the Emory Simulation Methodology in Radiology (SimMiR) program and has helped host symposia at Georgia Tech owned T3 Labs (http://t3labs.org/), a world class pre-clinical animal research center.
